About Me
In my works I create tension, between finely crafted paintings and graffiti aesthetics. This synthesis can be controversial, humorous, or sometimes even upsetting.
Picture yourself walking through the city, when suddenly, you come across graffiti or cryptic writings on the walls. Does it intrigue you? Does it provoke discomfort? Either way, its pushing you to question your surroundings and reflect, even if just for a moment. This is the subtle yet profound power of art — to challenge, provoke, and inspire thought.- Rewonsky
Rewonsky was born in Transylvania in 1985 and grew up in the cultural environment of Vienna in the 90s. During his graphic design studies he came in contact with graffiti and hip-hop culture. His work draws significant influence from graffiti and Pop Art, as well as from iconic artists like Keith Haring, Alex Katz, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Graffiti, an art form that inherently occupies public spaces and thrives on its rule-breaking freedom, serves as the core inspiration for Rewonsky's creations. The unrestrained spirit and dynamic energy are the driving forces behind his work, resulting in art that challenges conventions and celebrates the liberty of expression.
